Statement Regarding Seismic Activity in Colombia and Future Predictions Attributed to Jucelino Luz
In light of information concerning seismic activity in Colombia, including reference to a magnitude 7.0 event in Colombia, which was predicted by Jucelino Luz in a letter sent on December 30, 2025, we hereby issue this statement solely for informational and preventive purposes.
We reiterate our profound respect for the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of the Republic of Colombia, as well as for all other competent authorities, scientific institutions, and their respective officials.
Within the context of the personal predictions attributed to Jucelino Luz, particular attention is drawn to two possible future seismic events:
- August 25, 2032 — A personal prediction concerning the possible occurrence of a major earthquake, with an estimated magnitude between 8.0 and 9.0, potentially affecting the Tumaco region in western Colombia and surrounding areas.
- January 15, 2036 — A personal prediction concerning the possible occurrence of a major earthquake, with an estimated magnitude of approximately 8.0, potentially affecting the border region between Colombia and Ecuador.
